# How do I change my school, school type or year?

> Change your studies in Settings under Account settings. If your year is missing, change the school type first.

Your school, school type and year decide which content and subjects Knowunity shows you. You can change them at any time.

## Change your studies

1. Open your profile and tap the gear icon to open **Settings**.
2. Tap **Account settings**.
3. In the **Studies** section, tap the row you want to change: **Country**, **School type**, **Year**, **School** or **Subjects**.
4. Pick the new value and save.

## My year is not listed

Years depend on the school type. If the one you need is missing, the app shows **Can't find your year? Change your school type first.** Change the school type, then pick the year.

## Changing country

Changing the country switches the school system, subjects and content language. It can also change which plans and prices you see. Your uploads and streak stay with the account.

## I am at university

Choose the university school type. Subjects become majors and years become semesters.
