Example: A soccer ball at rest will remain stationary until kicked, which applies an unbalanced force causing a change in velocity. Once in motion, the ball will continue moving at a constant velocity unless acted upon by unbalanced forces such as friction from the grass or air resistance, which will cause the ball to slow down and eventually stop.
