Earth's Structure and Natural Disasters
Think of Earth as having four main layers, each with its own job. The inner core sits at the very centre - it's solid iron and incredibly hot, like a massive metal ball under extreme pressure.
Just above that, the outer core is the only liquid layer, made of molten iron and nickel. This liquid metal creates Earth's magnetic field! The mantle makes up about 84% of our planet and contains the magma that powers volcanoes.
The crust is where we live - it's the thinnest layer but the most important to us. It's made of huge puzzle pieces called tectonic plates. When these plates get stuck and suddenly break free, earthquakes happen. Volcanoes form when hot magma from the mantle bursts through weak spots in the crust.
Quick Tip: Remember the layers from inside out: Inner core (solid iron), Outer core (liquid metal), Mantle (magma source), Crust (where we live).
Rock Types and Formation
Rocks tell amazing stories about Earth's history, and there are three main types you need to know. Igneous rocks form from cooled magma and always contain crystals - tiny crystals mean the rock cooled quickly, whilst large crystals show it cooled slowly underground.
Sedimentary rocks have a grainy, layered appearance because they're made from compressed sand, mud, and other materials over millions of years. These rocks are like history books - the oldest layers are always at the bottom, with newer layers stacked on top.
Metamorphic rocks form when existing rocks get heated and squashed deep underground. Here's something fascinating: igneous rocks never contain fossils because the intense heat from volcanoes would destroy any living remains.
Memory Trick: Think "IGNeous = IGNited by fire" for volcanic rocks, and remember that anything living would be destroyed by that heat!

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!! This is not an ai review or anything this is genuinely coming from a 7th grade student (I know 2011 im young) but dude this app is a 10/10 i have maintained a 3.8 gpa and have plenty of time for gaming.
