Women's and Gender Studies • Key Definitions ● Women's and Gender Studies (WGS), Feminism O The field of women's and gender studies emerged to answer questions around what gender is, and how gender affects the lives of people o Along with sociology, psychology, anthropology- a branch of the social sciences ● O Field of Women's and Gender Studies, Feminism O Gender ● O O Feminism is a desire for people of all genders to be social, political, and economic equals Introduction & Discussion of Gender Revolution O O An interdisciplinary academic field devoted to topics concerning women, gender, and feminism O The field of women's and gender studies emerged to answer questions around what gender is, and how gender affects the lives of people What is gender? i hated reading this book b/c there was so much filler but it was interesting! unlike sparknotes, these notes are very thorough (i actually read the book and didn't just use sparknotes), will be posting part 2 and 3 some time soon. has slang + simplified
