単語の読み書きの基本ルール
単語がちゃんと読めて書けないと、英語のテストで点数を落としてしまう。でも大丈夫、基本的なルールさえ覚えれば、どんどん上達できるよ。
フォニックスっていうのは、アルファベットと音の関係のこと。例えば「c」は「ク」、「a」は「ア」、「t」は「トゥ」だから、catは「キャット」って読むんだ。全部がこのルール通りじゃないけど、知ってるとすごく便利。
一番注意したいのが、ローマ字読みとの違い。siをローマ字で読むと「し」だけど、英語では「スィ」になる。likeも「リケ」じゃなくて「ライク」だよね。
黙字（サイレントレター）も覚えておこう。knowの「k」やwriteの「w」みたいに、書いてあるけど発音しない文字のこと。新しい単語が出てきたら、発音とスペルを必ずセットで覚えるのがポイントだ。
重要ポイント: 英語は見たまま読めない単語がたくさんある。だから音とスペルを一緒に覚えることが超大事！
音のルールと効果的な練習方法
よく出てくる文字の組み合わせを覚えると、単語がグッと読みやすくなる。sh（シュ）、ch（チュ）、th（スまたはズ）、oo（ウー）、ee（イー）、ea（イー）は絶対に押さえておこう。
thの発音は舌を軽く噛むのがコツ。日本語にない音だから最初は難しいけど、練習すれば必ずできるようになる。
スペルを覚えるなら**「見て、隠して、書いて、確認」**が最強の方法だ。まず単語をじっくり見て、手で隠して思い出しながら書く。そして答え合わせ。間違えたら正しいスペルを3回書こう。
練習問題で実力チェック！「りんご→apple」「机→desk」「音楽→music」みたいに、日本語から英語にしたり、バラバラの文字を並べ替えたりして練習してみよう。
練習のコツ: 毎日少しずつでもいいから、この「見て、隠して、書いて、確認」を続けること。3日坊主より毎日5分の方が効果的！
テストで差がつく重要ポイント
大文字と小文字の使い分けは、テストで必ず出るから完璧にしておこう。文の始まり、人名、地名、曜日、月、教科名（EnglishやJapaneseなど）は大文字で始める。「私」のIは文中でも必ず大文字だよ。
似ているスペルにも要注意。where（どこ）とwere（be動詞の過去形）、write（書く）とright（右・正しい）みたいに、見た目は似てるけど意味が全然違う単語がある。
複数形のsやesを忘れるのもよくあるミス。one book → two books、one box → two boxesみたいに、2つ以上のときはsかesをつけるのを忘れずに。
単語を書く問題では、単数なのか複数なのかしっかり確認することが大切。文をよく読んで判断しよう。
テスト対策: 自分がよく間違える単語を集めた「苦手単語ノート」を作ってみよう。テスト前に見直すだけで、ケアレスミスが激減するよ！
