Real numbers include both rational numbers and irrational numbers. Think of them as all the numbers you can find on a number line.
Rational numbers can be written as fractions in the form or , where b cannot be zero. Examples include whole numbers like 5, fractions like , and even repeating decimals like 0.333...
Irrational numbers, on the other hand, cannot be written as simple fractions. They appear as decimal values that never end and don't have a repeating pattern.
Fun Fact Every number you use in daily life is a real number! Whether you're measuring your height, counting money, or calculating time, you're working with real numbers.
Square roots are values that, when multiplied by themselves, give you the original number. We write them using the radical symbol $\sqrt{}$. The number under the radical is called the radicand.
Rational numbers can always be written as fractions $\frac{a}{b}$ or $-\frac{a}{b}$, where b is not 0. These include numbers like 4 which equals $\frac{4}{1}$ and 0.75 which equals $\frac{3}{4}$.
Irrational numbers cannot be expressed as fractions. Instead, they appear as non-ending, non-repeating decimals. Famous examples include π (3.14159...) and (1.41421...).
Remember This Some square roots are rational like $\sqrt{4} = 2$, while others are irrational like $\sqrt{3}$. The key is whether the result can be written as a simple fraction!

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!! Knowunity is the BEST app I’ve used in a minute. This is not an ai review or anything this is genuinely coming from a 7th grade student (I know 2011 im young) but dude this app is a 10/10 i have maintained a 3.8 gpa and have plenty of time for gaming. I love it and my mom is just happy I got good grades
