Where did Shakepear set the play of Macbeth?

Light and darkness are used throughout Macbeth to symbolise good and evil 

This is because his thoughts of killing king Duncan are playing are making him anxious, guilty and causing him to have hallucinations 

Why does Macbeth see the dagger before him? (‘ is this a dagger I see before me?’.)

Ambition, the supernatural, kingship and power 

She says this as she wants the witches to turn her into a male and make her have the power that a man holds. This sets a tone throughout the play for her.

Why does Lady Macbeth say the quote ‘unsex me here?’

They speak in rhyme as rhyme is often associated with witches and the supernatural. This gives off even more of a sinister feel as they are chanting in rhyme.

Why do the witches always speak in rhyme? 

The motif of blood shows the guilt associated with Macbeths hallucinations.

What is the main Motif shown throughout Macbeth? what does it show? 

From the outside of his and lady macbeths relationship he seems powerful as he is the king but in reality Macbeth is constantly manipulated and controlled by lady Macbeth 

Lady Macbeth is showed as more confident and then powerful than other lady’s in her time as she confidently says ‘un sex me here’ which means she wants to turn male. She also has a sort of power over Macbeth as she can easily manipulate him to do just what she wants.

Why was lady Macbeth showed as a different type of lady than others in the time the play set?
