Subtraction as an Inverse Operation
Ever wonder why subtraction and addition are so closely related? That's because subtraction is actually the same as adding a negative number! When you subtract, you're really just adding the opposite (or additive inverse) of that number.
For example, 7 - 4 is the same as 7 + (-4). Both equal 3! This connection helps us understand that subtraction isn't a completely different operation - it's just addition in disguise.
The lesson provides many practice problems that show this relationship. For instance, 23 - 10 = 13 can be rewritten as 23 + (-10) = 13. Similarly, 52 - 13 = 39 is the same as 52 + (-13) = 39.
Quick Tip: When you're stuck on a subtraction problem, try rewriting it as addition with a negative number. This approach can make complicated subtraction much easier to handle!
This pattern works for all numbers - small and large. Whether you're calculating 89 - 57 or 98 - 34, you can always rewrite these as 89 + (-57) or 98 + (-34). Once you master this concept, you'll see subtraction in a whole new light!

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!! This is not an ai review or anything this is genuinely coming from a 7th grade student (I know 2011 im young) but dude this app is a 10/10 i have maintained a 3.8 gpa and have plenty of time for gaming.
