Macroscopic properties is anything that can be experienced by your senses

Microscopic properties is anything that cannot be experienced by your senses

A mixture is a combination of two or more substances in any proportions

-The components are not in a fixed ratio                                        -The components keep their own properties                                      -The components may be separated by physical means  

Heterogenous mixture and homogenous mixture

A homogenous mixture is a mixture with a uniform composition and all components are in the same state (that will remain constant for a period of time)

It means that the components cannot be distinguished from each other and the components are in the same state

What does the definition of a homogenous mean

What are examples of a homogenous mixture

-Brass: mixture of copper and zinc                                                  -Steel: mixture of iron and carbon  -Bronze: mixture of copper and tin                                                    -Stainless steel: mixture of iron,chrome and nickel

A heterogenous mixture is a mixture with a non-uniform composition. Particles can be distinguished.

It means that the constituent particles are not in the same state and are clearly distinguishable.

A pure substance is a substance composed of only one type of particles. They can be elements or compounds which are different elements bonded together by a chemical reaction.

An element is a pure substance consisting of only one type of atom that cannot be broken down into simpler substances.

A compound is a pure substance consisting of 2 or more types of items that are chemically bonded and can be broken down into simpler particles.

A mixture is a substance composed of different elements and/or compounds that can be separated mechanically.
