Think of Earth like a giant layered cake - each layer has its own special properties and job. The inner core sits right at the centre, extending about halfway from Earth's heart to the surface where we live.
Above that lies the mantle, which is basically a massive layer of hot, liquid rock called magma. This is where things get pretty exciting - all that molten rock is constantly moving around beneath us!
The crust is the thin, rocky shell we actually live on. It's made up of huge puzzle pieces called tectonic plates that slowly drift about on top of all that moving magma below.
Quick Fact The crust is incredibly thin compared to Earth's other layers - imagine the skin on an apple, and you've got the right idea!
Rocks don't just sit there doing nothing - they're constantly changing through some fascinating processes. Erosion gradually breaks down rocks over time, wearing them away bit by bit through wind, water, and weather.
Once rock particles get moved around, deposition takes over. This is simply when all those worn-away bits settle down in new places, like sand collecting at the bottom of a river.
The minerals in rocks are basically the chemical ingredients that make each rock type unique. Some rocks are more durable than others, meaning they're much harder to damage or break apart.
Remember This Erosion breaks rocks down, deposition moves the pieces around - it's like nature's own recycling system!
There are three main rock families, and each forms in a completely different way. Igneous rocks are the cool kids - literally! They form when hot magma or lava cools down and hardens, creating crystal patterns as it freezes.
Metamorphic rocks are the transformation artists of the rock world. They start as existing rocks but get completely changed when they're exposed to intense heat and pressure over thousands of years.
Sedimentary rocks form from layers of sediments that get squashed together over time. Each type tells a different story about how and where it formed.

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!! Knowunity is the BEST app I’ve used in a minute. This is not an ai review or anything this is genuinely coming from a 7th grade student (I know 2011 im young) but dude this app is a 10/10 i have maintained a 3.8 gpa and have plenty of time for gaming.
