Scrooge warns us more about ignorance compared to want because he thinks that ignorance (not knowing) is more dangerous.Also these children are a product of society which undermines the problems of society.

scrooge is being positive for once and spreading Christmas cheer. The word "god " is related to Christianity and Christmas is aChristian festival which displays his thoughts on the festive season.

Belle: "Another idol has displaced me." - stave 2

He fell in love with a young woman named Belle and proposed marriage, but gradually his love for Belle was overwhelmed by his love for money. Belle realised this and, saddened by his greed, left him one Christmas, eventually marrying another man.

Scrooge: "I will not shut out the lessons that they teach."

Scrooge is finally listening and accepting all the sprits of Christmas passes teaching and morals. This is a vital change to scrooge changing from evil to good, this is signified by this quote.

Scrooge is greedy for money as he doesn't care about the conditions in the counting house e.g. hot/ cold. Heating and aircon costs money and scrooge isn't willing to spend his precious money on luxuries like this.
