Prehľad a základné pojmy
Predstav si miesto, kde žijú zvieratá, ktoré nevidíš nikde inde na svete - presne to je Austrália a Oceánia! Austrália je najmenší kontinent na planéte, ale zároveň obrovský ostrov. Je to aj najsuchší a najplochší kontinent, čo z neho robí úplne jedinečné miesto.
Oceánia nie je kontinent, ale obrovská oblasť tisícov ostrovov v Tichom oceáne. Tieto dva regióny sú domovom endemitov - zvierat a rastlín, ktoré nenájdeš nikde inde na svete.
Pôvodní obyvatelia týchto oblastí sú Aborigéni v Austrálii a Maori na Novom Zélande. Ich kultúry sú tisíce rokov staré a dodnes sú veľmi dôležité. Oceánia sa delí na tri hlavné časti: Melanéziu, Mikronéziu a Polynéziu - každá má svoje špecifiká.
Tip: Zapamätaj si, že Austrália je kontinent aj štát zároveň, zatiaľ čo Oceánia je len geografická oblasť!
Geografia a podnebie Austrálie
Austrália leží celá na južnej pologuli medzi Indickým a Tichým oceánom, takže keď u nás je zima, tam je leto! Väčšina ľudí žije pri pobreží, hlavne na juhovýchode, pretože vnútrozemie pokrývajú obrovské púšte - až 2/3 celého kontinentu.
Podnebie je skutočne extrémne. Na severe panuje tropické podnebie s obdobím dažďov a sucha. Juh a juhovýchod majú mierne podnebie podobné Stredomoriu. Ale pozor - časté sú tu ničivé lesné požiare!
Rieky a jazerá sú tu vzácnosťou. Najväčší riečny systém Murray-Darling často vysychá. Eyreovo jazero je najnižšie miesto Austrálie a je slané - naplní sa vodou len občas. Hlavné mesto je Canberra, ale najznámejšie sú Sydney a Melbourne.
Zaujímavosť: V Austrálii sa nachádza Veľká koralová bariéra - najväčší korálový útes na svete!
Austrálska príroda a hospodárstvo
Tu sa dostávame k tomu najzaujímavejšiemu - austrálske zvieratá sú legendárne! Klokan, koala, vombat, tasmánsky diabol, vtákopysk - to všetko sú endemity. Väčšina cicavcov sú vačkovce, čo znamená, že svoje mláďatá nosia vo vačku.
Z vtákov tu žije emu, kookaburra a rôzne druhy kakadu. Pozor si treba dať na jedovaté hady a pavúky - Austrália ich má neúrekom! Z rastlín dominujú eukalypty (viac ako 600 druhov!) a akácie.
Hospodársky je Austrália veľmoc. Je bohatá na uhlie, železnú rudu, zlato a urán. V poľnohospodárstve dominuje chov oviec - Austrália je najväčší producent vlny na svete! Pestuje sa tu pšenica, cukrová trstina a rozvinutý je aj turizmus.
Pamätaj si: Koaly jedia len listy eukalyptu a spávajú až 20 hodín denne!
Oceánia a jej ostrovy
Oceánia je úplne iný príbeh - predstav si tisíce ostrovov roztrúsených po obrovskej ploche Tichého oceánu! Delí sa na tri hlavné časti podľa kultúry a geografie.
Melanézia (čierne ostrovy) zahŕňa väčšie, často sopečné ostrovy ako Fidži alebo Papua-Nová Guinea. Mikronézia (malé ostrovy) má menšie, nízke korálové ostrovy ako Marshallove ostrovy. Polynézia (mnohé ostrovy) sa rozprestiera na najväčšej ploche a zahŕňa Nový Zéland, Havaj či Tahiti.
Existují dva základné typy ostrovov. Vysoké ostrovy sú sopečného pôvodu, majú hory a úrodnú pôdu. Nízke ostrovy (atoly) sú korálového pôvodu, veľmi ploché a chudobné na sladkú vodu.
Varovanie: Nízke ostrovy jsou vážne ohrozené stúpaním hladiny morí kvôli klimatickým zmenám!
Život v Oceánii a Nový Zéland
Podnebie v Oceánii je väčšinou tropické - teplé a vlhké po celý rok. Ale pozor na tropické cyklóny, ktoré spôsobujú obrovské škody! Na ostrovoch rastú kokosové palmy, chlebovníky a banánovníky.
Hospodárstvo je založené hlavne na rybolove, pestovaní kokosových orechov a turizme. Mnohé ostrovy závisia od finančnej pomoci alebo predaja licencií na rybolov. Obyvateľstvo je veľmi rôznorodé - každý ostrov má vlastnú kultúru a jazyk.
Nový Zéland je špeciálny prípad. Patrí do Polynézie, ale je to rozvinutý štát s dvoma hlavnými ostrovmi. Má krásne hory (Južné Alpy), ľadovce a gejzíry. Hlavné mesto je Wellington, najväčšie Auckland. Okrem Európanov tu žijú Maori so svojou bohatou kultúrou.
Tip na test: Nový Zéland je tiež veľký producent vlny a mliečnych výrobkov!

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!!
