Volume Formulas

Ever wondered how much stuff can fit inside different shapes? Volume formulas give us the answer! Let's explore the most common 3D shapes and how to find their volumes.

For simple shapes like a cube, just cube the side length: a3a^3 (multiply the side length by itself three times). A cuboid or rectangular prism uses length × width × height (l × b × h).

Circular-based shapes have special formulas. A cylinder (like a can) uses πr2h\pi r^2h where r is the radius and h is height. A cone uses the same formula but multiplied by 13\frac{1}{3}, making it 13πr2h\frac{1}{3}\pi r^2h.

Spheres (perfect balls) have volume 43πr3\frac{4}{3}\pi r^3, while a hemisphere (half a sphere) is 23πr3\frac{2}{3}\pi r^3. For irregular shapes, prisms use base area × height, and pyramids use 13\frac{1}{3} × base area × height.

Fun Fact: Understanding volume helps in real life! When you fill a water bottle, bake a cake, or help your family pack moving boxes, you're applying these volume concepts.

The app is very easy to use and well designed. I have found everything I was looking for so far and have been able to learn a lot from the presentations! I will definitely use the app for a class assignment! And of course it also helps a lot as an inspiration.

This app is really great. There are so many study notes and help [...]. My problem subject is French, for example, and the app has so many options for help. Thanks to this app, I have improved my French. I would recommend it to anyone.

Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.
