Hallucinogens
Hallucinogens like marijuana, LSD, and ecstasy create their effects by altering how your brain interprets sensory information. They essentially change how you perceive reality.
These drugs can cause you to see, hear, or feel things that aren't actually there (hallucinations). They might also lead to delusional thoughts or dramatically altered perceptions of time, space, and self.
The effects of hallucinogens are highly unpredictable and can vary greatly based on the person, setting, and specific substance. Some people experience profound insights while others may have frightening experiences called "bad trips."
Mind Matters: Your brain normally filters and organizes sensory information to create your perception of reality. Hallucinogens disrupt this process, causing you to experience the world in radically different ways.
