The cognitive interview (CI) is a method developed by Fisher and Geiselman to improve the accuracy of eyewitness testimony. It consists of four main techniques: report everything, reinstate the context, reverse the order, and change perspective. The enhanced cognitive interview (ECI) adds focus on social dynamics. While the CI has shown effectiveness in increasing recall, it also has limitations such as increased inaccurate information and time-consuming nature.
