Amino acids are the fundamental building blocks of proteins and... Show more

Amino acids have a basic structure consisting of a central carbon atom connected to four key components: a hydrogen atom, an amino group (NH₃), a carboxyl group (COOH), and a unique side chain . These molecules contain five main elements: hydrogen, carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and sometimes sulfur.
There are two main categories of amino acids based on whether your body can produce them. Essential amino acids cannot be made by your body and must come from your diet. These include histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine.
Non-essential amino acids can be synthesized by your body when needed. This group includes alanine, asparagine, arginine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, cysteine, glutamine, proline, glycine, serine, and tyrosine.
Did you know? Even though some amino acids are called "non-essential," they're still crucial for your health. The name only means your body can make them itself!

Amino acids have distinctive physical properties - they're typically white crystalline solids with extremely high melting and boiling points. While most dissolve easily in water, they resist dissolving in organic solvents. Their taste varies between sweet, tasteless, or bitter, depending on the specific amino acid.
Essential amino acids perform vital functions in your body. Phenylalanine boosts memory and nervous system health, while tryptophan helps produce serotonin that regulates your mood and sleep. Lysine promotes antibody formation and helps fix calcium in your bones. Methionine supports healthy skin and can help with kidney stones.
Non-essential amino acids are equally important for your health. Alanine removes toxins and produces glucose, while glutamine supports brain function and helps synthesize DNA and RNA. Cysteine works as an antioxidant and creates collagen for skin elasticity. Tyrosine helps produce thyroid hormones and the melanin pigment in your hair, skin, and eyes.
Remember this! Your body needs all 20 amino acids to function properly, whether it can make them or not. A balanced diet helps ensure you get enough of each kind.

Several non-essential amino acids perform specialized roles in your body. Glycine supports proper cell growth and wound healing while functioning as a neurotransmitter. Arginine helps synthesize proteins and hormones while supporting immune function. Proline aids in tissue repair and collagen formation, which prevents artery hardening and promotes skin regeneration.
Aspartic acid drives metabolism and helps create other amino acids, while asparagine transports nitrogen to cells and supports nervous system development. Serine promotes muscle growth and helps synthesize proteins vital for immune function. Glutamic acid acts as a neurotransmitter crucial for brain development.
When you don't get enough amino acids, your body can develop various problems. Common deficiency symptoms include edema (fluid retention), anemia, insomnia, and depression. You might also experience diarrhea, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), and loss of appetite. Other symptoms include fat deposits in the liver, skin and hair problems, headaches, weakness, irritability, and fatigue.
Health alert! Amino acid deficiencies can affect many body systems. If you're experiencing multiple symptoms listed here, talk to your doctor about your diet and possible supplements.

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!! In the end I think it’s worth it 😊👍 ⚠️Also DID I MENTION ITS FREEE YOU DON’T HAVE TO PAY FOR ANYTHING AND STILL GET YOUR GRADES IN PERFECTLY❗️❗️⚠️

I found this app a couple years ago and it has only gotten better since then. I really love it because it can help with written questions and photo questions. Also, it can find study guides that other people have made as well as flashcard sets and practice tests. The free version is also amazing for students who might not be able to afford it. Would 100% recommend
