Leerdoelen Differentiëren
Vandaag ga je de basisregels van differentiëren leren die je overal in wiskunde B tegenkomt. Je leert hoe je de som-, product- en quotiëntregel toepast op verschillende functietypen.
Ook ga je werken met samengestelde functies en de kettingregel - klinkt ingewikkelder dan het is! Deze tools helpen je praktische problemen op te lossen, zoals het berekenen van optimale productie of groeisnelheden.
Let op: Deze vaardigheden zijn essentieel voor je eindexamen, dus zorg dat je ze goed beheerst!
Wat is Differentiëren?
Differentiëren is gewoon een fancy woord voor "uitrekenen hoe snel iets verandert". In Nederland gebruik je dit bijvoorbeeld om te berekenen hoe snel de bevolking groeit of wat de optimale productie van tulpenbollen is.
De afgeleide van een functie f(x) geeft de helling van de raaklijn aan de grafiek. We schrijven dit als f'(x) of df/dx - beide betekenen hetzelfde.
Een praktisch voorbeeld: als s(t) de positie van een fiets langs een kanaal beschrijft, dan vertelt s'(t) je de snelheid van die fiets op elk moment. De formule f'(x) = lim_{h→0} /h hoef je niet uit je hoofd te leren, maar het is handig om te weten dat dit de basis is.
Tip: Zie de afgeleide als een "veranderingsmeter" - hoe groter de waarde, hoe sneller de functie verandert!
Basisregels van Differentiëren
De machtsregel is je beste vriend: als f(x) = x^n, dan f'(x) = n·x^. Simpel toch? Bij x³ wordt dit 3x², en √x wordt 1/(2√x).
Constanten verdwijnen gewoon - de afgeleide van elke constante is 0. Logisch ook, want constanten veranderen niet!
De constante factor regel betekent dat je getallen gewoon voor het differentiëren kan laten staan. Dus 5x² wordt 5 · 2x = 10x.
Ezelsbruggetje: Bij machten trek je de macht naar voren en verminder je de macht met 1. Zo onthoud je de machtsregel makkelijk!
Som- en Verschilregel
Super makkelijk: bij optellen of aftrekken differentieer je elke term apart. Als f(x) = g(x) + h(x), dan f'(x) = g'(x) + h'(x).
Neem de kosten van een tulpenkwekerij: K(x) = 0,5x² + 100x + 2000. De marginale kosten vind je door elk stukje apart te differentiëren: K'(x) = x + 100 + 0 = x + 100.
Dit betekent dat elke duizend extra tulpenbollen € extra kost. Praktisch toch?
Bij langere functies zoals f(x) = 3x⁴ - 2x³ + 7x - 5 ga je gewoon term voor term: f'(x) = 12x³ - 6x² + 7.
Onthoud: De som- en verschilregel maken ingewikkelde functies ineens heel overzichtelijk!
Product- en Quotiëntregel
Bij vermenigvuldigen wordt het wat trickier. De productregel zegt: als f(x) = g(x) · h(x), dan f'(x) = g'(x) · h(x) + g(x) · h'(x).
Ezelsbruggetje: "eerste maal afgeleide tweede plus eerste maal afgeleide tweede". Bijvoorbeeld bij een kaaswinkel met omzet O(t) = krijg je O'(t) = 150 - 4t.
De quotiëntregel voor breuken is: f'(x) = / [h(x)]². Het ezelsbruggetje: "onder maal afgeleide boven min boven maal afgeleide onder, gedeeld door onder kwadraat".
Belangrijk: Bij producten en quotiënten kun je NIET gewoon beide delen apart differentiëren!
Quotiëntregel Voorbeeld
Laten we f(x) = / uitwerken. Hier is g(x) = 2x + 1 met g'(x) = 2, en h(x) = x² + 3 met h'(x) = 2x.
Met de quotiëntregel krijgen we: f'(x) = / ².
Uitwerken geeft: f'(x) = / ² = / ².
Het lijkt ingewikkeld, maar als je stap voor stap werkt valt het heel erg mee. Zorg dat je de noemer altijd kwadrateert!
Tip: Check altijd je uitwerking door een paar waarden in te vullen en te kijken of het klopt!
Kettingregel en Samengestelde Functies
De kettingregel gebruik je bij "functies in functies". Als f(x) = g(h(x)), dan f'(x) = g'(h(x)) · h'(x). Differentieer de buitenste functie en vermenigvuldig met de afgeleide van de binnenste.
Bij een kastemperatuur T(t) = 20 + 5sin krijg je T'(t) = 5cos · π/12. De buitenste functie (sinus) en binnenste functie werk je apart uit.
Een simpeler voorbeeld: f(x) = ⁵ wordt f'(x) = 5⁴ · 3 = 15⁴.
Ezelsbruggetje: Werk altijd van buiten naar binnen, zoals het pellen van een ui!
Praktische Toepassingen
Windmolen efficiency: Een windmolen met E(v) = 0,5v³ - 2v² + 10v heeft afgeleide E'(v) = 1,5v² - 4v + 10. Voor de maximale toename stel je E''(v) = 0, wat v = 4/3 m/s geeft.
Bevolkingsgroei Amsterdam: P(t) = 850000 + 5000t - 50t² heeft als afgeleide P'(t) = 5000 - 100t. In 2025 groeit Amsterdam met 4500 mensen per jaar.
Deze voorbeelden laten zien hoe differentiatie in het echte leven wordt gebruikt. Van energieopbrengst tot demografische studies - overal kom je deze technieken tegen.
Praktijktip: Differentiëren helpt je optimale waarden te vinden in allerlei situaties!
Oefeningen en Antwoorden
Hier zijn de oplossingen van de oefenvragen: f'(x) = 12x² - 4x + 7, g'(x) = 6x² - 6x + 2, en h'(x) = /².
Voor de samengestelde functies: k'(x) = 16x³ en m'(x) = x/√. Deze laatste gebruikt de kettingregel voor wortelfuncties.
Het belangrijkste is oefenen! Hoe meer je differentieert, hoe automatischer de regels worden. Begin met simpele functies en werk langzaam naar ingewikkelder voorbeelden.

Knowunity is the BEST app I’ve used in a minute. This is not an ai review or anything this is genuinely coming from a 7th grade student (I know 2011 im young) but dude this app is a 10/10 i have maintained a 3.8 gpa and have plenty of time for gaming. I love it and my mom is just happy I got good grades

The app's just great! All I have to do is enter the topic in the search bar and I get the response real fast. I don't have to watch 10 YouTube videos to understand something, so I'm saving my time. Highly recommended!

I found this app a couple years ago and it has only gotten better since then. I really love it because it can help with written questions and photo questions. Also, it can find study guides that other people have made as well as flashcard sets and practice tests. The free version is also amazing for students who might not be able to afford it. Would 100% recommend

This app is phenomenal down to the correct info and the various topics you can study! I greatly recommend it for people who struggle with procrastination and those who need homework help. It has been perfectly accurate for world 1 history as far as I’ve seen! Geometry too!
