Conflicts • In Loch lomond walkers leave gates open and animals escape making farmers waste their time finding them. • Tourists may let their dogs off their leads near sheep causing them to chase them and may result in sheep's miscariaging leading to farmers losing money they could have made from selling them. • Farmer's machinery may slow up tourists causing traffic adding extra time to journeys. • Tourists may park cars on narrow country roads restricting the movement of farmer's large vehicles. • Tourists may make fires in forestry which can spread to other trees through peat causing a forest fire which affects the Forestry commission who can't profit from selling the timber. • Tourists leave rubbish behind after visiting loch lomond which animals could eat leading to large farmers bills for the farmer. Solutions ● An upland glaciated area I have studied is Loch Lomond and a solution to animals eating litter and getting ill is that rangers have been given the power to prosecute people for dropping litter through local bylaws. • A solution to tourists leaving gates open and animals escaping is installing kissing gates which cannot be left open due to their design. • A solution to dogs causing sheep miscarriages and leading to losses is that farmers create a diversion of the Conic Hill path during...
