Understanding Mitosis: Stages and Explanation

Phases of Cell Division
During Prophase, the cell starts preparing for division. Chromatin (the loose genetic material) shortens and thickens into visible chromosomes. Each chromosome consists of two identical sister chromatids joined at a structure called the centromere. This is when the cell's DNA becomes organized for splitting.
In Metaphase, the action continues as centrioles position themselves at opposite ends (poles) of the cell. Spindle fibers connect to chromosomes and line them up perfectly along the cell's middle (equatorial plane). Think of this as chromosomes lining up at the starting line of a race! Metaphase ends when the centromeres begin to divide.
Fun Fact: The alignment in metaphase ensures each new cell gets exactly the right chromosomes - it's like nature's quality control system!
Anaphase is where the real separation happens. The centromeres split, allowing sister chromatids to separate. Spindle fibers contract and shorten, pulling these separated chromatids toward opposite poles of the cell. This movement looks like a perfectly choreographed dance under a microscope.
Finally, during Telophase, the separated chromatids reach the opposite poles and are now called daughter chromosomes. These chromosomes unwind back into fine chromatin threads. The spindle fibers disappear, and new nuclear membranes form around each set of chromosomes, creating two new nuclei.

The app is very easy to use and well designed. I have found everything I was looking for so far and have been able to learn a lot from the presentations! I will definitely use the app for a class assignment! And of course it also helps a lot as an inspiration.
This app is really great. There are so many study notes and help [...]. My problem subject is French, for example, and the app has so many options for help. Thanks to this app, I have improved my French. I would recommend it to anyone.
Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.
Understanding Mitosis: Stages and Explanation
Cell division happens in a series of organized steps called phases. Each phase has special events that help a cell split into two new cells. Let's explore what happens during these amazing processes!
