Orientacija in smeri neba
Orientacija pomeni, da znaš določiti, kje se nahajaš v prostoru in v katero smer moraš iti. To je super koristno, ko si na izletu v gozdu, raziskuješ novo mesto ali preprosto ne veš, kje si.
Obstaja osem smeri neba, ki jih moraš poznati. Štiri so glavne: Sever (S), Jug (J), Vzhod (V) in Zahod (Z). Štiri so stranske: Severovzhod (SV), Jugovzhod (JV), Jugozahod (JZ) in Severozahod (SZ).
Pomni: Če poznaš eno smer neba, lahko določiš vse ostale! Če gledaš proti severu, je za tvojim hrbtom jug, na desni vzhod in na levi zahod.
Te smeri si predstavljaj kot vetrovnico - krožno shemo, kjer so vse smeri natančno razporejene. Na večini zemljevidov je sever vedno zgoraj, kar ti pomaga pri branju kart.
Orientacija s pomočjo Sonca
Najstarejši način orientacije je opazovanje sonca. Ker se sonce giblje po določeni poti, lahko vedno veš, kje so smeri neba.
Zjutraj sonce vzide na vzhodu, opoldne (ob 12. uri) je točno na jugu, zvečer pa zaide na zahodu. Opoldne je tvoja senca najkrajša in kaže proti severu - to je najbolj zanesljiv trenutek!
Če imaš analogno uro (z kazalci), lahko z njo določiš jug. Mali kazalec usmeri proti soncu, nato pa si predstavljaj črto, ki razpolavlja kot med malim kazalcem in številko 12. Ta črta kaže proti jugu!
Finta: Zapomni si: "Sonce Vzide na Vzhodu, Zajde na Zahodu." Ta stavek ti bo vedno pomagal!
Orientacija s kompasom
Kompas je najzanesljivejši pripomoček za orientacijo. Njegova magnetna igla (običajno je rdeča) vedno kaže proti severu, ne glede na to, kam ga obrneš.
Kompas ima tudi vetrovnico - okroglo ploščo z označenimi smermi neba. Ko držiš kompas vodoravno in stran od kovinskih predmetov, počakaš, da se igla umiri.
Nato obrneš vetrovnico tako, da se oznaka S poravna z rdečo iglo. Zdaj lahko odčitaš vse smeri neba! Če želiš iti proti jugovzhodu, preprosto poiščeš oznako JV na vetrovnici.
Pazi: Kompas drži stran od telefona, ključev in drugih kovinskih predmetov - ti motijo magnetno iglo!
Orientacija z zemljevidom
Zemljevid je pomanjšan prikaz okolice, vendar ga moraš najprej pravilno usmeriti. To pomeni, da ga obrneš tako, da se smeri na zemljevidu ujemajo s smermi v naravi.
Najlažje to narediš s kompasom. Položi kompas na zemljevid in ga obračaj, dokler ni sever na zemljevidu (običajno je zgoraj) obrnjen v isto smer kot magnetna igla.
Ko je zemljevid usmerjen, primerjaj objekte na zemljevidu (ceste, hiše, hribe) z objekti, ki jih vidiš okoli sebe. Tako lahko točno določiš, kje si in kam moraš iti.
Nasvet: Na skoraj vseh zemljevidih je sever zgoraj - to ti olajša delo pri usmerjanju!
Sedaj lahko kombiniraš vse tri načine orientacije in postaneš pravi strokovnjak za orientacijo v naravi!
Praktični primeri in povzetek
Predstavljaj si, da si opoldne v gozdu in sonce močno sije. Tvoja senca kaže točno proti severu! Če moraš iti do potoka na severu, preprosto sledi svoji senci.
Pri uporabi kompasa na taborjenju je še lažje. Če volja reče, da je zaklad v smeri jugozahoda, vzameš kompas, počakaš da se igla umiri, poravnaš S z rdečo iglo in poiščeš JZ na vetrovnici.
Ostali znaki v naravi (manj zanesljivi): mah na drevesih običajno raste na severni strani, letnice na štoru so na severni strani gostejše. Vendar se na te znake ne zanašaj popolnoma!
Za test si zapomni: Sonce vzide na V, zajde na Z, opoldne je na J. Magnetna igla vedno kaže na S. Zemljevidi imajo sever zgoraj!
Če osvojiš te tri načine orientacije, se nikoli več ne boš izgubil. Kompas je najzanesljivejši, sonce ti pomaga podnevi, zemljevid pa ti da popoln pregled nad okolico.
