Volume of Cylinders

Cylinders have two identical circular bases connected by a height. The formula for finding a cylinder's volume combines what you already know about circles with a simple multiplication.

To calculate a cylinder's volume, you need to find the area of the circular base first using $\pi r^2$ (where r is the radius). Then multiply this base area by the height of the cylinder. The complete formula is:

Remember This! Think of a cylinder like stacking circles on top of each other. The volume formula $V = Bh$ works for any 3D shape with a consistent cross-section - you're just multiplying the base area (B) by the height $h$.
