Understanding Atoms
Imagine atoms as the tiniest LEGO pieces of our world - they're the building blocks of all matter. Everything you touch, see, and use is made up of these incredibly small particles.
Atoms have three main parts that work together. The center part is called the nucleus, which contains protons (with positive charge) and neutrons (with no charge). Around this nucleus, electrons (with negative charge) zoom around in layers called an electron cloud.
Think of an atom like a tiny solar system. The nucleus is like the sun in the middle, while the electrons orbit around it like planets. These three parts - protons, neutrons, and electrons - give atoms their unique properties.
Fun Fact: Atoms are so small that millions of them could fit on the period at the end of this sentence. Yet despite their size, they're what everything in our universe is made of!
