The Age of Exploration was an exciting period from the... Show more

Have you ever wondered how people first discovered faraway places? The Age of Exploration was when Europeans began sailing to distant lands they had never seen before. This exciting time of discovery happened from the 1400s to the 1600s.
During this period, sailors used new tools and ships to travel farther than ever before. They were looking for adventure and hoping to find amazing new things.
Fun Fact: Before GPS and Google Maps, explorers used stars, compasses, and hand-drawn maps to figure out where they were going!

Europeans had several important reasons to brave dangerous ocean journeys. They wanted to find new trade routes to Asia where they could get valuable spices, silk, and gold without paying middlemen.
Many explorers also wanted to spread Christianity to people in other lands. This religious mission was important to both the explorers and the kings and queens who paid for their trips.
Curiosity played a big role too! People were eager to learn about new places, plants, animals, and ways of living. This desire for knowledge pushed explorers to go farther and discover more.
Remember: While exploration led to many discoveries, it also had serious consequences for the native peoples who already lived in these "new" lands.

Christopher Columbus sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in 1492, hoping to reach Asia but instead landing in the Americas. This mistake changed history forever!
Ferdinand Magellan led the first expedition to sail all the way around the world, though he didn't survive the entire journey himself.
Other famous explorers included Vasco da Gama, who found a sea route to India, and Jacques Cartier, who explored Canada's St. Lawrence River. John Cabot explored North America for England, while Henry Hudson searched for a northern passage to Asia.
Amazing Achievement: Magellan's crew completed the first circumnavigation of the globe, proving beyond doubt that the Earth is round and that all the world's oceans are connected!

The Age of Exploration completely changed our world. Europeans discovered lands with resources they had never seen before, like new crops, gold, and silver.
European ideas, languages, and religions spread to new places. Unfortunately, so did European diseases, which caused terrible suffering for native populations who had no immunity to them.
This period also led to colonialism, where European countries took control of lands in the Americas, Africa, and Asia. These colonies provided wealth and power to European nations for centuries.
Think About It: Many of today's countries, languages, and cultural traditions exist because of what happened during the Age of Exploration.

Some journeys changed the world forever! In 1492, Columbus sailed across the Atlantic and reached islands in the Caribbean, beginning European awareness of the Americas.
Vasco da Gama successfully sailed around Africa to reach India in 1498, opening a valuable trade route. Magellan's expedition (1519-1522) was the first to circle the entire globe, though Magellan himself died during the journey.
Other important voyages included Cortés' conquest of the Aztecs and Pizarro's defeat of the Incas. These conquests led to Spanish control of vast territories and resources in the Americas.
Incredible Journey: It took Magellan's crew three years to sail around the world, and only one ship with 18 men returned from the original five ships and 270 sailors who started!

The Age of Exploration created big changes that we still see today. People from different parts of the world began trading, sharing ideas, and moving to new places like never before.
New foods, technologies, and ways of thinking spread around the globe. Foods like potatoes, tomatoes, and corn traveled from the Americas to Europe, while horses and wheat went the other direction.
This exciting period helped create our modern, connected world. When you eat chocolate, use a compass, or visit a country with many different cultures, you're experiencing the lasting effects of the Age of Exploration!
Your Connection: Every time you use a map app on a phone to find a new place, you're following in the footsteps of these early explorers—just with much better technology!

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!! In the end I think it’s worth it 😊👍 ⚠️Also DID I MENTION ITS FREEE YOU DON’T HAVE TO PAY FOR ANYTHING AND STILL GET YOUR GRADES IN PERFECTLY❗️❗️⚠️
