Uvod v fevdalizem
Predstavljaj si Evropo po razpadu mogočnega Rimskega cesarstva - povsod kaos, vpadi barbarov in šibki kralji. Fevdalizem je bil odgovor na to negotovost, sistem, ki je vladal od 9. do 15. stoletja.
Osnova je bila preprosta: senior (fevdalec) podeli vazalu (plemiču) kos zemlje, imenovan fevd. Vazal pa mu za to priseže zvestobo in obljubi vojaško pomoč. To ni bila daritev - fevd je ostal last seniorja, vazal ga je le uporabljal.
Podložniki (kmetje) so bili na dnu te piramide. Niso bili sužnji, a so bili vezani na zemljo in so jo morali obdelovati za fevdalca. Brez dovoljenja niso smeli nikamor. Plačevati so morali desetino Cerkvi in opravljati tlako - brezplačno delo na fevdalčevi zemlji.

Fevdalna družbena hierarhija
Fevdalna družba je bila kot piramida - vsak je vedel, kje je njegovo mesto, in prehajanje med sloji je bilo skoraj nemogoče.
Na vrhu je bil kralj, teoretično lastnik vse zemlje. Svojo moč je delil z visokim plemstvom (vojvode, grofje), ki so prejeli velike fevde in postali njegovi vazali. Ti so nato svoje fevde delili naprej nižjemu plemstvu (vitezom).
Duhovščina je bila posebna - škofje in opati so bili pogosto veliki fevdalci z lastnimi vazali. Na dnu piramide so bili kmetje in podložniki, ki so predstavljali preko 90% prebivalstva in obdelovali zemljo za vse ostale.
Pomembno je razumeti, da je bil isti človek lahko hkrati vazal in senior. Vitez je bil vazal grofu, a senior svojim kmetom.

Življenje na fevdu
Fevd ni bil le kos zemlje - bil je samozadostna skupnost z gradom, vasjo, cerkvijo in mlinom. Zemlja je bila razdeljena na dva dela, ki sta imela popolnoma različne namene.
Pridvorna zemlja je bila fevdalčeva - obdelovali so jo podložniki med tlako. Rustikalna zemlja pa so bile manjše kmetije (hube), ki so jih v najem dobili podložniki za preživljanje svojih družin.
Obveznosti podložnikov so bile težke: tlaka nekaj dni na teden, dajatve v pridelkih, včasih tudi denarne dajatve in seveda desetina Cerkvi. Njihovo življenje je bilo trdo in odvisno od volje fevdalca.
Kljub temu pa system ni bil popolnoma enostranski - fevdalec je moral svojim podložnikom zagotoviti zaščito pred napadalci in pravico do uporabe skupnih površin.

Izjemna vloga Cerkve
Krščanska Cerkev je bila v srednjem veku najmočnejša institucija v Evropi - njena moč je segala na vsa področja življenja. Bila je duhovna vodnica, a hkrati tudi največji fevdalec z ogromnimi posestmi.
Cerkev je kontrolirala izobraževanje, saj so znali brati in pisati predvsem duhovniki. Latinščina je bila jezik Cerkve, znanosti in diplomacije, kar je Cerkvi dajalo dodatno moč. Vsi so morali plačevati desetino, ne glede na svoj družbeni položaj.
Investiturni boj je bil ključen dogodek, ki kaže na cerkljeno moč. Spor med papežem in cesarjem o tem, kdo imenuje škofe, se je končal spektakularno - papež Gregor VII. je izobčil cesarja Henrika IV., ki je moral v snegu v Canossi prositi odpuščanja.
Cerkev je bila edina resnično mednarodna sila, ki je povezovala vso Zahodno Evropo in oblikovala srednjeveško miselnost.

Praktični primeri in povzetek
Da boš lažje razumel fevdalizem, si predstavljaj viteza Jurija, ki postane vazal grofu Antonu. Poklekne pred njim, položi roke v njegove in priseže zvestobo. Grof mu simbolično podeli grudo zemlje in s tem mu zaupa vasico s kmeti.
Kmet Franc na Jurijevem fevdu ima težko življenje. Spomladi ore in seje, a mora tri dni v tednu delati na Jurijevi pridvorni zemlji. Jeseni mora desetino pridelka oddati župniku, del pa tudi vitezu Juriju. Brez dovoljenja ne sme zapustiti posesti.
Ključni razlogi za nastanek fevdalizma so bili šibka kraljeva oblast in potreba po lokalni zaščiti pred vpadi Vikingov, Madžarov in Saracenov. Sistem ni bil povsod enak - v Angliji je bil drugačen kot v Franciji.
Fevdalizem je postopno izginjal s krepitvijo kraljevih oblasti, razvojem trgovine in nastankom mest v poznem srednjem veku.

Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!! Knowunity is the BEST app I’ve used in a minute. This is not an ai review or anything this is genuinely coming from a 7th grade student (I know 2011 im young) but dude this app is a 10/10 i have maintained a 3.8 gpa and have plenty of time for gaming. I love it and my mom is just happy I got good grades

The app's just great! All I have to do is enter the topic in the search bar and I get the response real fast. I don't have to watch 10 YouTube videos to understand something, so I'm saving my time. Highly recommended!

I found this app a couple years ago and it has only gotten better since then. I really love it because it can help with written questions and photo questions. Also, it can find study guides that other people have made as well as flashcard sets and practice tests. The free version is also amazing for students who might not be able to afford it. Would 100% recommend

This app is phenomenal down to the correct info and the various topics you can study! I greatly recommend it for people who struggle with procrastination and those who need homework help. It has been perfectly accurate for world 1 history as far as I’ve seen! Geometry too!
