Understanding Different Forms of Energy

Forms of Energy
Energy can't be created or destroyed - it just changes form! Mechanical energy is found in all objects and relates to their motion, position, or shape. You can calculate it by adding potential energy (stored energy) and kinetic energy (movement energy): ME = PE + KE.
Nuclear energy is the potential energy stored in an atom's nucleus that gets released during nuclear reactions. Power plants use nuclear fission (splitting atoms) or fusion (putting atoms together) to generate electricity. Thermal energy happens when particles in an object heat up and move faster - that's why liquid water has more thermal energy than ice!
Electrical energy comes from electric charges moving around. You see this energy in lightning, batteries, and power lines. Electromagnetic energy travels through space in waves, like the UV rays that reach us from the sun.
Fun Fact: The energy in one bolt of lightning could power a house for about a month! That's a lot of electrical energy in just one flash!

Chemical Energy
Chemical energy is stored in the bonds that hold atoms together. When these bonds break, energy gets released that can be used to do work. This form of energy is incredibly important in our everyday lives!
Your body is a chemical energy expert! When you eat food, your digestive system breaks it down and converts it into chemical energy that gets stored in your cells. Your body keeps this energy until you need it for activities like running, thinking, or even just breathing.
Many of the things we use daily rely on chemical energy. Batteries, gasoline, and even the food in your lunch box all store chemical energy that can be changed into other forms when needed.
Did You Know? One peanut butter sandwich contains enough chemical energy to let you walk for about two hours!

The app is very easy to use and well designed. I have found everything I was looking for so far and have been able to learn a lot from the presentations! I will definitely use the app for a class assignment! And of course it also helps a lot as an inspiration.
This app is really great. There are so many study notes and help [...]. My problem subject is French, for example, and the app has so many options for help. Thanks to this app, I have improved my French. I would recommend it to anyone.
Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.

Energy is all around us and comes in many different forms. It never disappears but transforms from one type to another. Understanding different types of energy helps us make sense of how our world works!
