Raziskovanje Severno- in Južnoameriške Raznolikosti

Splošen pregled in ključni pojmi
Amerika ni le ena celina, ampak dvojni kontinent, ki se razteza čez vse toplotne pasove - od ledenega severa do skoraj antarktičnega juga. Evropska kolonizacija je pustila globoke sledi, ki jih vidimo še danes v jeziku, kulturi in celo v gospodarski razvitosti.
Najpomembnejša je delitev na Angloameriko (ZDA in Kanada) ter Latinsko Ameriko (vse južno od ZDA). V Angloameriki prevladuje angleški jezik, protestantska vera in visoka razvitost. Latinska Amerika pa govori špansko in portugalsko, je katoliška in gospodarsko manj razvita.
Subdukcija je geološki proces, kjer se ena tektonska plošča podriva pod drugo. Zaradi tega imamo na zahodu obe veliki gorstvi - Skalno gorovje in Ande. Tu so potresi in vulkani nekaj povsem običajnega!
Opomba: Mestici , mulati in zambi so rasno mešano prebivalstvo, ki je značilno za Latinsko Ameriko.
Fizično-geografske značilnosti
Reliefna zgradba obeh Amerik sledi preprosti formuli Z-V: mlado gorovje - nižavje - staro gorovje. Na zahodu imamo Kordiljere (Skalno gorovje in Ande), ki so tektonsko aktivne zaradi subdukcije. V sredini so obsežna nižavja - na severu prerije (žitnica sveta), na jugu Amazonsko nižavje z največjim tropskim gozdom.
Na vzhodu najdemo stara, že erodirana gorstva - Apalače na severu in Brazilsko višavje na jugu. Ta so bogata z rudami, posebej s premogom in železovo rudo.
Podnebje je precej drugačno na obeh kontinentih. Severna Amerika je zaradi smeri gorstev odprta za vdore hladnega zraka s severa (blizzardi!) in toplega z juga. Južna Amerika leži večinoma v tropskih krajih, kjer vladajo pasati in kjer Humboldtov tok povzroča eno najsušjih puščav na svetu - Atacamo.
Pozor: Andi ustvarjajo padavinsko senco - na zahodni strani je puščava, na vzhodni pa deževni gozd!
Rastlinstvo in podnebni pasovi
Rastlinstvo lepo sledi podnebnim pasom. Severna Amerika ima pasove, ki se raztezajo od severa proti jugu: tundra na Arktiki, tajga (borealen gozd), mešani gozdovi, prerije (stepe) v osrednjem delu in puščave na jugozahodu.
Južna Amerika je bolj tropska zgodba. Imamo selvo (amazonski deževni gozd), ki je pravi "pljuča sveta", llanos in campos (savane) ter pampo - izjemno rodovitne stepe v Argentini.
Ne pozabi, da relief igra ogromno vlogo - kjer so Andi, tam je padavinska senca. Zato je zahod suh, vzhod pa moker.
Prebivalstvo in poselitev
Prebivalstvo je izjemno neenakomerno porazdeljeno. Večina ljudi živi ob obalah - na vzhodni obali ZDA (megalopolis BosWash), okrog Velikih jezer, v jugovzhodni Braziliji (São Paulo, Rio) in okrog Buenos Airesa.
Urbanizacija je v Latinski Ameriki ena najvišjih na svetu - okrog 80% ljudi živi v mestih! To je posledica ruralnega eksodusa - bega s podeželja v mesta, ker tam ni dela.
V Latinski Ameriki nastajajo favele (Brazilija) ali barrios - revna, neformalna naselja na obrobjih velikih mest. Tu živi milijone ljudi brez ustrezne infrastrukture.
Maquiladoras so posebnost Mehike - montažni obrati ob meji z ZDA, kjer sestavljajo izdelke za ameriški trg. To je posledica prostotrgovinskih sporazumov.
Zanimivost: Megalopolis BosWash povezuje pet velikih mest v eno urbano celoto s preko 50 milijoni prebivalcev!
Gospodarstvo in razvoj
Angloamerika predstavlja post-industrijsko družbo, kjer prevladujejo storitve (okrog 80% BDP). Tu najdemo Silicijevo dolino (visoka tehnologija), Wall Street (finance) ter razvito avtomobilsko in letalsko industrijo.
Latinska Amerika je še vedno odvisna od izvoza surovin - baker iz Čila, železova ruda iz Brazilije, nafta iz Venezuele, kava, soja in goveje meso. Problem? Cene surovin na svetovnem trgu stalno nihajo, zato je gospodarstvo nestabilno.
Glavni trgovinski bloki so USMCA (prej NAFTA) v Severni Ameriki ter MERCOSUR in Andska skupnost v Južni Ameriki.
Ključni problem Latinske Amerike je prevelika odvisnost od ene ali nekaj surovin. Ko padejo cene na svetovnem trgu, celotno gospodarstvo trpi.
Pomembno: Razlika med razvitim severom (storitve) in manj razvitim jugom (surovine) je ena ključnih tem za maturo!
Študija primera: Krčenje amazonskega pragozda
Amazonski pragozd izginja alarmantno hitro. Glavni vzroki so živinoreja , pridelovanje soje za živalsko krmo, sečnja dragocenega lesa in gradnja hidroelektrarn.
Posledice so katastrofalne na več nivojih. Lokalno izgubljajo življenjski prostor staroselska plemena, regionalno se spreminjajo padavinski vzorci, globalno pa izgubljamo "pljuča sveta" in povečujemo globalno segrevanje.
Transamazonska cesta odpira prej nedostopna območja in povečuje pritisk na gozd. Gre za klasičen konflikt med gospodarskim razvojem in varstvom okolja.
Za maturo si zapomni: Amazon ni pomemben le lokalno, ampak globalno - tu je največja biotska raznovrstnost in "lekarna sveta" z neodkritimi zdravili.

The app is very easy to use and well designed. I have found everything I was looking for so far and have been able to learn a lot from the presentations! I will definitely use the app for a class assignment! And of course it also helps a lot as an inspiration.

Wow, I am really amazed. I just tried the app because I've seen it advertised many times and was absolutely stunned. This app is THE HELP you want for school and above all, it offers so many things, such as workouts and fact sheets, which have been VERY helpful to me personally.

I think it’s very much worth it and you’ll end up using it a lot once you get the hang of it and even after looking at others notes you can still ask your Artificial intelligence buddy the question and ask to simplify it if you still don’t get it!!! Knowunity is the BEST app I’ve used in a minute. This is not an ai review or anything this is genuinely coming from a 7th grade student (I know 2011 im young) but dude this app is a 10/10 i have maintained a 3.8 gpa and have plenty of time for gaming. I love it and my mom is just happy I got good grades

The app's just great! All I have to do is enter the topic in the search bar and I get the response real fast. I don't have to watch 10 YouTube videos to understand something, so I'm saving my time. Highly recommended!

I found this app a couple years ago and it has only gotten better since then. I really love it because it can help with written questions and photo questions. Also, it can find study guides that other people have made as well as flashcard sets and practice tests. The free version is also amazing for students who might not be able to afford it. Would 100% recommend

This app is phenomenal down to the correct info and the various topics you can study! I greatly recommend it for people who struggle with procrastination and those who need homework help. It has been perfectly accurate for world 1 history as far as I’ve seen! Geometry too!
