Osnove kemijskih formul
Če misliš, da so kemijske formule samo čuden nabor črk in številk, se motiš! To so pravzaprav zelo preprosti "recepti" za snovi okrog tebe.
Indeks je tista majhna številka desno spodaj od simbola (kot v H₂O). Pove ti, koliko atomov tega elementa je v spojini. Če indeksa ni, pomeni da je atom samo eden.
Oksidacijsko število potrebuješ za pisanje formul ionskih spojin. To je kot "navidezni naboj" atoma. Elementi v 1. skupini imajo vedno +1, v 2. skupini +2, kisik skoraj vedno -2. Vsota vseh oksidacijskih števil mora biti 0.
💡 Ključno za test: Razlikuj med ionskimi spojinami in kovalentnimi spojinami - za vsako vrsto veljajo drugačna pravila!
Ionske spojine - kovina + nekovina
Pri ionskih spojinah kovina postane pozitiven ion, nekovina pa negativen. Formula se zapiše s križnim pravilom: naboj enega iona postane indeks drugega iona.
Postopek je enostaven: najprej določiš naboja ionov (Ca²⁺ in O²⁻), nato uporabiš križno pravilo (Ca₂O₂), na koncu pa okrajšaš na najmanjše celo število (CaO).
Poimenovanje je še lažje: napišeš ime kovine, dodaš rimsko številko (samo pri prehodnih kovinah!), nato pa ime nekovine s končnico -id. Klor postane klorid, kisik oksid, žveplo sulfid.
⚠️ Največja napaka: Za ionske spojine NIKOLI ne uporabljaj grških predpon! MgCl₂ je magnezijev klorid, ne magnezijev diklorid!
Kovalentne spojine - nekovina + nekovina
Pri kovalentnih spojinah potrebuješ grške predpone: mono- (1), di- (2), tri- (3), tetra- (4), penta- (5), heksa- (6). Te predpone povedo, koliko atomov vsakega elementa je v spojini.
Poimenovanje: uporabi predpono za prvi element , nato predpono za drugi element in mu dodaj končnico -id. CO je ogljikov monoksid, CO₂ pa ogljikov dioksid.
Iz imena v formulo je še lažje - samo slediš predponam. Didušikov trioksid pomeni 2 atoma dušika in 3 atome kisika, torej N₂O₃.
📝 Nasvet: Če vidiš ime spojine s predponami , veš takoj, da gre za kovalentno spojino!
Rešeni primeri - ionske spojine
Spojina med aluminijem in žveplom: Al je v 13. skupini (Al³⁺), S je v 16. skupini (S²⁻). S križnim pravilom dobiš Al₂S₃. Ime: aluminijev sulfid (brez rimske številke, ker Al ima vedno isto oksidacijsko število).
Za CuCl₂ moraš določiti oksidacijsko število bakra. Ker sta dva klora z nabojem -1, mora imeti baker naboj +2. Torej: bakrov(II) klorid. Rimska številka je potrebna, ker je baker prehodna kovina.
Ključ je v tem, da vedno preveriš, ali je kovina iz glavne ali stranske skupine. Kovine iz 1. in 2. skupine ter aluminij nimajo rimskih številk, prehodne kovine pa ja.
🎯 Za test: Vedno najprej določi tip spojine, nato izberi pravilna pravila!
Rešeni primeri - kovalentne spojine
P₄O₁₀ pomeni 4 atome fosforja in 10 atomov kisika. Z grškimi predponami: tetrafosforjev dekoksid. Pri kovalentnih spojinah vedno uporabljaj predpone za oba elementa .
Največja past je mešanje pravil! Če vidiš MgCl₂, to je ionska spojina (Mg je kovina), zato je pravilno ime magnezijev klorid, ne magnezijev diklorid.
Strategija za uspeh: najprej poglej elemente v formuli, ugotovi tip spojine, nato uporabi pravilna pravila. Za ionske spojine križno pravilo in imena brez predpon, za kovalentne pa grške predpone.
✅ Hitri test: Če je kovina + nekovina = ionska (brez predpon). Če sta obe nekovini = kovalentna (z grškimi predponami).
Povzetek za test
Ionske spojine : Formula s križnim pravilom, ime brez grških predpon. Rimska številka samo pri prehodnih kovinah. Nekovine dobijo končnico -id.
Kovalentne spojine : Grške predpone za oba elementa, mono- se za prvega izpusti. Drugi element dobi končnico -id.
Če si zapomniš to osnovno razliko, boš rešil vse naloge. Ključ je prepoznavanje tipa spojine - potem le slediš pravilom za to vrsto.
