How do I manage browser notifications?

If the website offers notifications, choose Enable notifications and allow them in your browser. You can skip them or turn them off in site settings.

Updated October 23, 2026

Some signed-in students see a notification invitation while setting up Knowunity on the website. The invitation is being tested. Other accounts do not see it, and support cannot switch it on. You cannot opt in or out of the test, but accepting notifications is optional.

Turn notifications on

  1. If the invitation appears, select Enable notifications.
  2. Allow notifications in your browser's permission prompt.
  3. Continue into Knowunity.

Choose Not now if you do not want reminders. You can continue using Knowunity without them.

Why the invitation may be missing

The browser must support web notifications and allow local storage. You must be signed in and have given marketing-cookie consent. The invitation is not shown when the browser has already allowed or blocked notifications, or when you have already responded to the invitation in that browser.

These requirements do not guarantee the invitation: your account must also be included in the test.

Turn reminders off

Open your browser's site settings for Knowunity and turn off notification permission. The exact labels depend on your browser.

Something went wrong

If Knowunity shows an error during setup, use the retry option or choose Not now to continue. If you previously blocked notifications, check your browser's site permissions rather than expecting another permission prompt.

For a continuing problem, use the support form under A technical problem. Include your browser and the error message.
