On the whiteboard, Knowie explains a topic out loud and draws and writes on the board as it goes.
Start a lesson
- Open the AI chat and open the menu.
- Tap Whiteboard.
- Ask your question in one of these ways:
- Type it in Ask anything... and tap Send.
- Tap the photo button to ask about a picture, for example a task from your book.
- Hold the microphone and speak, then release to send. A recording sends on its own after one minute.
Knowie shows Knowie is thinking... while it prepares, then starts explaining.
While Knowie explains
- Tap the pause button at the top to stop, and tap it again to continue.
- If you move the board, tap Follow to go back to what Knowie is drawing.
- Holding the microphone to ask a follow-up question also pauses Knowie.
- Tap the close button at the top to leave.
The drawing is not saved. When you close the whiteboard, the board is cleared.
If something goes wrong
- That question is too long for me. Try a shorter one. Shorten your question and send it again.
- I couldn't hear you. Hold the mic and speak. Keep holding the microphone while you speak.
- Knowie lost the connection. Ask again to continue. Check your connection and ask again.
- Knowie couldn't finish that. Try asking again. Send the question again.
Good to know
- The whiteboard is in the app only, not on the website.
- It is available to everyone in the US. In other countries some students see it as part of a test. If you do not see Whiteboard in the menu, your account does not have it yet. You cannot opt in, and support cannot switch it on.
- The whiteboard is not available when the app is set to a language written from right to left, such as Arabic.
- Knowie speaks and writes in your app language.
